November 8, 1986 ~ May 25, 2024

Timothy A. Wenner, 37, beloved son and brother, died Saturday, May 25, at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Annandale, VA.

He was born at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC, on November 8, 1986. Tim had Spina Bfida and was a paraplegic, so he attended the Child Development Center in Falls Church, and participated in the special education classes at Patrick Henry and Bush Hill Elementary Schools. He graduated with a modified diploma from Falls Church High School in 2008 and attended the Earl L. Pulley Career Center before working at both Service Source and MVLE.

Tim was an active member of the Springfield Challenger Little League and loved both playing baseball and helping to “umpire” the games. He attended every trip to the yearly Virginia Beach Tournaments. He also was a regular at all the Eddie’s Club events and parties and seriously enjoyed winning the “scariest” costume award almost every year at the Halloween parties.

Tim was a very special soul. He spent his life confined to a wheelchair and the last two years of his life bed bound and yet he never complained or lost his sense of Joy in everyday life. He had the gift of knowing how to live in the present, the ability to never be bored and to find humor and fun in the most difficult of circumstances. All who knew him will always remember his smile, his jokes and his singing. He left a very big impression for such a little guy. We were blessed to have him in our lives.

His loving mom Debby and sister Lois survive him. Extended family include; his Aunt Mickey, Uncle Jess, and many cousins; Linn, Beth & Chris, Scott & Anna, George, Theresa, Justine, Jesse & Chris, Madison & Ben, Allen & Sue, Kelly & Ellis, Chris, Kay & Don, Jim & Phyllis and Tim & Angie. Tim has many more dear family and friends who will remember him with love and fondness.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Spina Bifida Association of America (SBANC) and Springfield Challenger Baseball c/o Eddie Garretson, 8522 Willow Bend Ct #T4, Springfield, VA 22152 and/or Shriners Hospital for Children.

  1. His passing must be gutting, but the inspiration and light his life gave to this world will live on forever. To live such an impactful, influential life is a gift few can claim. This possible in part due to the love and support of his family, especially mom. My heart goes out to his mom, sister, and family and friends that knew him well.
