Radha Ramaswamy

radha ramaswamy

January 15, 1949 ~ June 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Radha Ramaswamy, who passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026 at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Radha lived her life with warmth, generosity, boundless curiosity, and an open heart. She embraced every opportunity to learn something new and found immense joy in sharing her talents with others. Whether family, friends, or someone she had just met, she had a wonderful ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged.

Dance was one of Radha’s lifelong passions. In her younger years, she excelled in Bharatanatyam and later embraced ballroom dancing with equal enthusiasm and grace. She found great joy in encouraging novice dancers and singers, always believing that everyone could learn and grow with a little encouragement. She also loved to sing, and her cheerful spirit often found expression through music.

Her creativity extended far beyond the arts. She enjoyed carpentry and took great pride in designing and building her own furniture. She had a keen interest in home design and construction and was always eager to contribute ideas that transformed a house into a warm and inviting home. In her thirties, she successfully ran a bookkeeping service, reflecting both her entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic. Above all, she believed deeply in the importance of education. She found great fulfillment in teaching developmentally disabled children and was passionate about encouraging young minds to learn, grow, and realize their potential.

The kitchen was another place where Radha’s love for others shone brightly. Through every meal she prepared, she brought family and friends together, celebrated life’s special moments, and expressed a generosity that words alone could never convey. To Radha, cooking was never simply about food but another way of caring for the people she loved.  Radha believed that a well-kept home reflected the love and care one had for family. She took great pride in maintaining a home that was clean, organized, and welcoming, creating an environment where everyone felt comfortable and at peace.

Radha’s compassion extended well beyond her family and friends. She had a tender heart for those less fortunate and never wanted to pass someone in need without offering help. She believed that even the smallest act of kindness could bring hope and restore dignity. If she had been blessed with greater means, one of her greatest wishes was to dedicate much of it to helping the poor and those in need.

One of Radha’s guiding principles throughout her life was beautifully simple: Love All. Forgive All. She believed that kindness and forgiveness had the power to heal hearts and strengthen relationships. She lived those words every day with family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. More than anything she achieved, this philosophy became her greatest legacy and the gift she leaves for all of us.

For 52 wonderful years, Radha shared a beautiful life with her husband, Ram. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, and raised their two sons, Satish and Arun, with patience, values, and unconditional love. Her family was always the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater happiness than seeing those she loved together.

Pulmonary fibrosis gradually took away many of the things Radha treasured most. Losing her independence and no longer being able to care for her family weighed heavily on her heart. Yet she faced her illness with remarkable courage, dignity, and grace. Even in her final days, she thought not of herself but of those she loved. She gently told her family not to be sad, but instead to find comfort in knowing that she would finally be at peace. That selfless act reflected the extraordinary person she had always been.

Radha is survived by her devoted husband, Ram; her loving sons, Satish and Arun; her beloved sisters, Shanta, Saroja, Nithya; and many cherished relatives and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth, generosity, and loving spirit.

Although our hearts are broken, we are profoundly grateful for the gift of having shared our lives with Radha. She taught us that life’s greatest treasures are found not in what we possess, but in the love we give, the kindness we show, and the memories we create together.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
