Nuredin Gjata of Sterling, Virginia entered into Eternal Life on Thursday December 12, 2019 peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family. Nuredin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be cherished, blissfully remembered, and forever missed by his wife of 50 years, Hava Gjata, as well as by his daughters, Enkeleida (Kayla) Gjata, Aina Halili, and Ornela Gjata. He will also be deeply loved and missed by his grandchildren, Emiliano, Fiona, Bora, and Aleks. 

Nuredin was born to the late Zija and Ballkeze Gjata in in the town of Libohove, Albania. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Mediha and Melo and his brothers, Shero and Dino Gjata. He graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tirana.

Nuredin and his family immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life. They settled in southwest Virginia, in the small town of Blacksburg. Nuredin worked and excelled as a vet technician at Virginia Tech Veterinary School and as well as a lab technician in a Fiber Optics Lab. A few years later, Nuredin relocated to Sterling, VA with his family whereby he shared the rest of his life with them. 

Nuredin left a beautiful mark in this world and touched countless lives. His memory will be deeply cherished. He gave so much of himself to all of us and he will be forever in our hearts. 

Please join us in honoring his memory at the Waterford at Fair Oaks, beginning promptly at 10:00 am (9:30 arrival). After the service, the burial will take place at the Sterling Cemetery. We will follow with a memorial lunch at the Waterford at Fair Oaks.
