Milton O. Johnson, 85, of Ashburn, Virginia died on June 13, 2014 at his home. Milton (aka Mike/Uncle Miltie) was born in Britton, South Dakota to Oscar & Jenny Johnson on February 23, 1929. He was the sixth of seven children.
Milton is survived by his loving wife Janet, 4 children - Mark (Karen), Michael (the late Kathleen), Kirk (Mary), Linda (Steve), stepdaughter Robin Wright and stepson Rob (DeNene) Wright. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren - Herbert, Samuel, Jacob, Benjamin, Andrew, Tyler, Danny, Kelly, Emily, Travis, Laura and Kaylee and 8 great grandchildren. Milton is also survived by his 1st wife, Eva & his brother Ray.
Milton grew up on a farm in Britton, SD. where he graduated high school, attended one year of college and then moved to Maryland in 1955. Milton was an entrepreneur, from a young age, right up until the end. He started, by himself or with a partner, over fifteen businesses. His most successful venture is a family-run business started in 1967, Johnson Hydro Seeding Corp., which is still thriving today.
Milton was a real character and loved being around his family and friends. He loved to play - golfing, hunting, fishing, skiing and crabbing were just a few of his activities.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 5th at 11:00 A.M. at Damascus United Methodist Church, 9700 New Church Street, Damascus, MD 20872.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Milton's memory, to your local Hospice or Cancer Society.
