Laura Mae Skinner Meyer

Laura Mae Skinner Meyer (78) of McLean, VA on 27 December, 2010. Born on October 31, 1932 in Harrison, MI to Lydia Marie Boulton and William Earl Skinner. She attended Central Michigan University('54). Laura lived in McLean since 1968, working and volunteering in many capacities, including 20 years of service to Occidental International(OXY) before retiring as the Executive Assistant to the President in 1999.

She is survived by her brothers Leo, Wesley, and William and her sister, Sharon and husband Richard. Laura was the beloved wife of 55 years to Henry R. Meyer, loving mother of H.J.D.(Ted) and wife Nancy, Jeffrey C. and wife Jenny, Troy J. and husband David, and the adoring grandmother of Cassandra and fiance William, Kevin and wife Mary, H. Christopher, Benjamin, Alexandra and Kerry.

Laura touched many lives with her grace and elegance and continued in her gentleness and kindness to those who cared for her following her diagnosis of lung cancer. A memorial service will be held later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered in Laura's memory to your health charity of choice.
