  1. Bon voyage young man. We did have fun times and I now believe Eritrea is in Africa! Thank you for your patience and good humor. You will be missed. Barbara

  2. Deepest Sympathy to your family God’s Word says, "He will swallow up death forever, and wipe away the tears from all faces " Isa. 25:8…..

  3. Don’t need to have the long legacy that others had, to know how valuable Kirk was to the Dept. of Labor. Kicked off a great relationship of course related to travel trips and "did you try this while you where there!?" Will continue to ask that question to honor the time I was allowed to share with Kirk.

  4. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Kirk for many years. He was a world traveler and I will miss his travel advice. Kirk was loved by his clients at the Dept. of Labor and I appreciated every day how seamlessly he handled travel arrangements for VIP level clients. I will miss him both personally and professionally.

  5. I was privileged to have Kirk as a close friend for nearly a decade. Even though he’s gone, he’ll live on forever in my heart and mind.

  6. I will truly miss hearing Kirk or calling him to help resolve a travelers issues. To be honest, most of the phone calls were just "chats" and we had already resolved a client issue. The first time I met Kirk when he was leaving the building and he gave me the strongest hug. We always spoke on the phone but it was like he knew me for a long time. I am so glad I got to meet and know Kirk and will cherish our time and calls. I am so sorry for your loss. May the days ahead bring you comfort and peace.

  7. Kirk was such a good friend! Work did not seem like work when we worked together to get a task taken care of. I’m truly going to miss talking with him and laughing about current events. Until we meet again…

  8. Knowing Kirk has been the honor of my life! I loved him so. The times we spent together will forever remain in my memories and heart.

  9. To the family and friends of Kirk, I send my heartfelt condolence. I had the privilege of working with Kirk for many years at the U.S. Department of Labor. Kirk was a kind and caring person, tireless and dedicated. He was always willing to assist me, no matter the circumstances. His love for life was keen. I always looked forward to seeing him or listening to him tell of his most recent travels. I will miss his unique voice…his kind spirit will always be with me!

  10. I didn’t work with Kirk for a long time but we kept in touch and remained friends for much longer. I’ll miss his stories, his dry sense of humor, his laugh. Kirk introduced me to Facebook, he actually was my first friend on it and we shared many chats and conversations that would turn to phone calls…I’d miss him dearly but he would always live in my heart. RIP my dear friend

  11. Deepest sympathy for your entire family. Lee and Robin my prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace. Lil &Dan Radanovich

  13. Mr Strait and Robin,so sorry Kirk has passed from this Life. He will always be in the hearts of all who knew him and loved him. I remember meeting Kirk when he was about 4 years old.My family had just moved in across the street from the Straits. There was a snow storm. Our dad’s were digging out their cars. Robin,Kirk and I met for the first time and played in the snow. Then we went to Mary’s and had hot chocolate. That was the first of many times we spent playing together.Robin became my best friend and Kirk being the little brother would be included in many playtimes over the years; until the Straits moved to Ohio. Good times. Rest in peace Kirk.

  15. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Kirk was one of the most kindest and caring people I’ve ever met. I have such fond memories of him when he and I won the mixed doubles club championship at our tennis club back in the 1980’s. I am heart broken that he was taken from us so soon, but I am eternally grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing him.
