Jeffrey Alan Taylor
January 28, 1969 ~ December 30, 2023
Our beloved friend Jeffrey Alan Taylor passed away from bladder cancer on December 30, 2023. Jeff endured his cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment with bravery, dignity, humor, and strength. Jeff is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pia, and their daughters, Lillian “Lilly” and Kathleen, his mother Delores Taylor, and his sisters, Christine Voncannon (Jay) and Emily Dupree (Jamie). He was preceded in death by his father, James.
Born on January 28, 1969, Jeff spent the majority of his life in the DC area. He graduated from West Potomac High School, George Mason University and achieved a masters degree from the University of Maryland. He valued learning and was passionate about expanding his knowledge.
Jeff was a veteran of the US Navy and served as an Intelligence Analyst on the USS INDEPENDENCE Aircraft Carrier. He later supported Naval Special Warfare Group ONE. His experience in the Navy laid the groundwork for him to establish himself as a federal employee in the intelligence community where he was well regarded as he supported the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and finally the Department of Treasury.
Jeff was a true lover of classic rock and country music, and especially the guitar playing of Stevie Ray Vaughn. A guitarist himself, he would often head to his basement to shred some tunes. He was a loyal friend, with many of his closest friendships spanning back to elementary and high school. He was an avid sports fan, and his allegiance to the Redskins and Ohio State was unwavering. His greatest joy of all though came from spending time with his daughters Lilly and Kathleen, and his devoted wife Pia.
In lieu of flowers, Jeff’s friends and family have established a fund for donations in Jeff’s memory to help cover educational and related expenses for Lilly and Kathleen. Donations can be sent to:
