Hope Elizabeth Fogwell, 62, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born in Washington, DC, to the late Seymour and Esther (Carter) Fogwell, Hope was a 1981 graduate of Crossland High School in Temple Hills, MD.
After spending her early life in Maryland, she moved to Alexandria, Va., in 2013, and has lived at The View Alexandria for the past ten years.
Hope spent almost 40 years working for the Retirement Services (RES) of the United States Office of Personnel Management as a Customer Service Representative in Washington, D.C.
A lifelong and beloved Universalist National Memorial Church member in Washington, D.C., Hope was a frequent parishioner who rarely missed a Sunday service.
An avid fan of the NFL’s Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens, Hope also had an affinity for the Welsh Corgi dog breed. She enjoyed taking cruises with her Mom and traveling to Massachusetts to visit with family.
Preceded in death by her father, Seymour, and mother, Esther, Hope is survived by her cousins, Bethany Bower of Alexandria, VA, Nancy Blackmer and Pamela Gale, both of Orange, MA, Karen Randall Wells of Clinton, TN, Walter Randall of Hamden, CT and Kyle Randall of Brockton, MA
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m at the Universalist National Memorial Church 1810 16th St. NW, Washington, DC 20009.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Universalist National Memorial Church to support its ministries to the needy. Universalist.org
