Harold L Pearson

harold pearson

Harold (best known as ‘Joe’) was born in Oakland, CA, the son of Alta and Bill Pearson. He was predeceased by his first wife, Peggy, and son, Mike. He is survived by his second wife, Carol; daughter, Shari Sorensen; grandchildren, Marie Myers, Dianne Waters and Greg Waters, and great grandchildren, Mason, and Allie Myers. Upon finishing his navy enlistment, he worked as an airplane mechanic to supplement his GI Bill. After graduating from San Jose State University in Aeronautics he worked on Skunkworks and Corona, two now de-classified programs. This led to his lengthy career at Lockheed Missiles and Space until his retirement, in 1980. Joe built an El Toro sailboat, Satellite sailboat and four kayaks in his garage. He loved playing tennis and racquetball, hiking, nature, and all dogs. He was especially proud of his lifelong commitment to regular blood donations. His car’s license plate read: “It is better to give than receive.” Everyone who was lucky enough to know Joe loved him for his thoughtfulness, kindness, integrity, and dedication to his family.
