Aileen Althyra Meyer
December 13, 1927 ~ October 12, 2017
Aileen Meyer, long time resident of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on Thursday October 12, 2017. Her survivors include son, Kirk Meyer and wife, Sharon, son, Jay Meyer, daughter, Paula Childress, grandchildren, Julie Meyer and husband Joe, Jason Meyer and wife Brittany, David Childress and Jonathan Childress. She was preceded in death by her husband Norvan Meyer and son-in-law, William Childress.
Aileen Roeder Meyer was born December 13, 1927, in Almena, Kansas. She attended Kansas State University where she met and then married Norvan Meyer on June 8, 1947.
Aileen was very active in her church. Over the years she served as the vice president of the congregation, the Sunday School director, and was an active member of the church choir for over 35 years. She was a member of the AVMA women's auxiliary, the Seminary Valley Civic Association and volunteered at the Arlington House.
Aileen loved to entertain and host out of town friends and family. For many years her Christmas letters were enjoyed by all. Her wonderful sense of humor will be missed.

Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington, Virginia on Tuesday
October 17th, 2017. A viewing will be at 11am, services at 12pm and the interment immediately following at Columbia Garden Cemetery.
