  1. I had the privilege of knowing Ian for nearly 10 years as both a colleague and a friend. I will deeply miss hearing about the latest incredible restaurants he’d discovered, his enthusiastic food recommendations, and the joy he took in sharing them. His charming laugh, quick wit, and those classic eye rolls brought so much warmth and humor during our conversations. He leaves behind a quiet space that will be hard to fill. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.

  2. Ian and I worked for many years together in the Coast Guard. His easy going manner and friendliness made everything better. He will be missed. Fair winds and following seas shipmate.

  3. Ian was a wonderful man with a great laugh and wit. I enjoyed working with him in all of his capacities with the Coast Guard. He loved the Coast Guard and his work.

I will miss him greatly. May he rest in peace.

  4. Ian was a champion of the Coast Guard’s port security program. Always professional and generous with his time, Ian worked tirelessly to apply highly technical risk analysis concepts to the real-world maritime environment, strengthening the defense of our nation’s critical infrastructure. He was a pleasure to work with and will be sorely missed.

  5. For Ian’s family please know how much he will be missed by those you have never met. Our relationship began as purely professional ,to a friendship over the years.Ian was a brother Chief and one of the best all around friends that a guy could ask for. I will miss talking/texting him. Miss the laughter. Things will never be as good without him around. I am still in shock. May god bless you.
