Michael William Trudnak, age 61, a longtime resident of Loudoun County, currently of Leesburg, VA died on April 18, 2014 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born on March 14, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY to Marion Noel Trudnak and the late Michael John Trudnak. Michael graduated from Sachem High School in Ronkonkoma, NY and served in the Marine Corps from 1972 through 1976.
Michael was a beloved member of his community and big supporter of local youth sporting programs, and was a member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend. Michael will be remembered for his unfailing commitment to those around him and his genuine love of life.
Michael was the beloved husband of 26 years of Jean Trudnak, loving and devoted father of Michael Paul Trudnak of Apex, NC, Melissa Kay Trudnak of Dallas, TX and Matthew William Trudnak of Leesburg, VA, brother of Alice (Luke), Dianne, Thomas (Marianne), Paul(Debra), David(Jurgita), Donald(Kathy), proud grandfather of Kayla, Elizabeth, Dylan and Alia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1st from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy, Sterling, VA, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 2nd at 10 am. Interment with military honors will be held at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street, SE, Vienna, VA 22180 (www.cancer.org).

Am sorry to learn of Mike’s passing. He was a good man who treated everyone with respect and understanding. A true gentleman in every sense of the word. I am very fortunate to have known and worked with him.
Jean, my sincerest sympathies to you and your family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I am thankful I had the pleasure of getting to know Mike on a professional and personal level. Mike always had a good story to tell around the office and treated everyone with respect regardless of your position. He was one of the good guys. Mike will be missed but remembered with a smile.

Mike was a man of many talents. Being frank and fair were just two of his many fine characteristics. A great man has left us. Memories of Mike will live on and on.
Dear Jean and Family, It is with both sadness and gratitude that I write to honor Mike and send my condolences to you this morning. I have had the privilege of working with him for ten years. He was my boss, but also a friend. His commitment to making a difference for our employees, shareholders, and the well being of travelers and those with disease was always unquestioned. I will never forget his relating how he intentionally diverted his flights as a military pilot in Vietnam to avoid harming villagers. His conscience was always with him. But, his vision will live on in our work to help save those with TB and breast cancer. It will certainly be done in his honor and yours.
It is sad news that Mike has passed away so prematurely, before seeing how the company he founded becomes financially very successful. I will remain forever grateful to him for his honesty, kindness, and all the hard work he put in building the team.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It was a pleasure to know Mike who was always fair and fun loving. You will be missed.
Jeez, Just about to turn 63 and was remembering some friends from my Marine Corp days. Decided to Google Mike and naturally, I was floored at finding his obituary. We were room mates in the Marine Corp and often talked about what we would name our kids. We decided on Matthew for a first son and Melissa if the first was a girl. My first son’s name is Matthew. I spent three years with Mike at ASD HQMC Andrews where we became very close friends. He was a great guy and a great Marine. I was shocked to stumble upon his passing while contemplating a reunion of our old gang from our squadron.Although, two years have already expired since his passing, it has been 40 years since I last saw Mike but I will remember him for another 40 years with fond memories of our time spent together in the USMC.My sincere sympathies to the entire family.
