Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. John’s sister Jane (my mom) sharing some memories .

We remember small things about those that have passed, but they have made a huge impact on your life. Mine was Johns hands.

His writing was unique and flourished, big and bold with interesting styling, somewhat mesmerizing to me.
My first memory was of him holding me up at parades so I could see, being small sometimes has its downfalls. Always had my hand, and always had time for me, although he was much older than I was.
Pulling my sled up a steep hill, (those sleds that have the metal runners), very heavy, so I could go sliding
His hands holding a golf club, fishing or hunting with dad.
Hands that brushed an interesting hairstyle with a brush and Brill cream
His hands showing me how to navigate through mathematics, I remember his teaching me how to use a slide rule.
His hands helping me with a project for school, a circuit board, hum I do remember.
John’s hands were somewhat double jointed; he could bend the ends (which I tried)
Hands that gave me a big stuffed dog for a birthday, he was in college then.
The hands that wrote a check for a house I couldn’t afford.
Although the years had gotten between us there is a lot I will always remember. tough to say goodbye.
I hope he has found some peace from his last days.

    Jane
