Born in: West Allis, Wisconsin
Resided in: Alexandria, Virginia

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Jeanne Ann Dorgan, who left us peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 73 in Alexandria, VA. Born on November 4, 1952, Jeanne lived a vibrant and generous life. One defined by compassion, service, and an unmistakable sense of humor that could lift anyone’s spirits. Her colorful fashion choices were as bold and joyful as she was, expressing the light she carried everywhere she went.

Raised in West Allis, WI, Jeanne proudly served her country as a medical specialist and nurse in the U.S. Army before embarking on a long and meaningful career as a neonatal specialist. Across hospitals in California, Wisconsin, and Virginia, she devoted herself to caring for the most vulnerable with calm confidence, empathy, and a steady presence that comforted both colleagues and families alike.

Later in life, Jeanne made Alexandria, VA her home, where she treasured everyday moments with her daughter and found her greatest joy in her beloved grandson. Her sharp wit, boundless warmth, and unwavering support defined her relationships and left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas M. Dorgan; her mother, Beatrice A. Dorgan; and her sister, Donna Dorgan.  She is survived by her daughter, Celinda Scott; her grandson, Xavier Williams; her siblings Dave Dorgan (Deb), Trish Gagnon (Michael), Mary Quesada (Jaime), John Dorgan (Michele), Janet Dorgan, Judy Nipper, and Frank Dorgan; and many dear friends.

Though her absence leaves a profound void, Jeanne’s strength, humor, and love will continue to echo through the countless lives she touched. Our family is deeply grateful for your love and support during this difficult time.

May God keep her and surround her in His love and mercy.  We love you mom.

Guestbook

  1. Jeanne was always a bright spot for me as a Respiratory Therapist in the NICU. I worked with her for 20 years. She always had a smile or a joke to lighten the mood. I always smiled when I found out Jeanne was working. I miss our frequent conversations and your beautiful laugh. You are dearly missed

  2. May God, His Grace and mercy be upon you all at this time. Rejoice in her wonderful life and earthly contributions. Rejoice in her home going. Her light will continue to shine in all those who loved her.

  3. Mama Jeanne, we will miss your beautiful smile and your gentle, intriguing wit. May you rest peacefully now.

  4. My sincere condolences to the family. Ms. Jeanne will be sorely missed. Praying for the family to find peace and solace at this time.

  5. I light this candle for Mama Jeanie. I am reminded of all the joy you brought into the lives of Celinda, Xavier, and family and friends. You will be missed.

  6. I remember our two families – the Healys and the Dorgans. When we were kids, we would get together often. Often in the Dorgan’s kitchen where my Aunt Betty would bake and bake and bake…the most amazing desserts. The five Healy and eight Dorgan kids would break off into playgroups…. Jeanne was the same age, so she was the logical playmate for me.

Fifteen years later Jeanne and I both found ourselves in San Francisco – she as an Army nurse and me as a somewhat bohemian new Mom. We would meet and hang out. She would share her dreams of getting her degree and angst about her boyfriend…. the professor. Later, when she was pregnant, the boyfriend took a job in Canada, and I was lucky enough to be her coach for the birth of her beautiful daughter Celinda.

Later Jeanne moved East after leaving the Army and her nursing career flourished. We stayed in touch sporadically mostly through her sister Mary would had also moved to the Bay Area. The last time I saw her was when she and Celinda visited Mary in California. We all had dinner together at a restaurant near SFO. It was nice.

I will always think fondly of Jeanne; she was quite the character and lived a full life. I hope to meet her again. Rest in Peace, Jeanne!

  7. Mama Jeanne,
You will surely be missed. Your infectious smile touched everyone who knew you. Rest in easy knowing “we got” Celinda and Xavier.
