Jane Boreman Williams died January 21, 2026 from complications of pneumonia. Jane graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wake Forrest University as a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society. She later earned her Master’s degree in English Literature from George Washington University. She began her teaching career at Rosman High School in Western North Carolina. After seven years she accompanied her husband James to Japan where she taught at St. Maur High School in Yokohama. Upon returning to the U.S. she began a thirty-three year career as a legislative assistant to three U.S. Congressman.
Jane lived a life with commendation both in teaching and her service in Congress. She was loved for her kind personality and highly regarded for her capabilities by all who knew her.
Jane had no children. She is survived by her loving former husband James, sister Judith, brother John and many nieces and nephews. Jane will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
