Grace Eleanor Sheftic, age 88, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, surrounded by her family at her residence located in Centreville, Virginia after a brief illness.

Grace was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania on August 10, 1928. Upon marriage, she moved to Jenners, Pennsylvania, where she resided for almost 30 years raising her family. She then moved to Falls Church, Virginia living there for 25 years.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Agnes Sunderly, her brothers Joseph and Louis Sunderly, and sister Mary Agnes Barrett.

Grace is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Stephen Sheftic, her children Barbara Kissell, Sharon Bonney(Kyle), Stephen Sheftic(Joyce) and Joanne Wiser (Larry). Grace also has four grandchildren Tristan Kissell, Austin Bonney, Victoria Sheftic and Abigail Wiser.

As most may know, her family was the light of her life and she was happiest when they were together. She especially enjoyed her family's yearly vacations to the Outer Banks which has spanned almost 30 years.

Please join her family in celebrating her life on Monday, July 10, 2017, beginning with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Both will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church located at 13807 Poplar Tree Road, Chantilly, VA 20151. Mass will be conducted by Rev. Michael Duesterhaus.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Grace Sheftic's name may be made to Catholic Charities of Arlington, at www.ccda.net or The Little Sister's of the Poor, at 1503 Michaels Road, Henrico, VA 23229. Grace's family thanks you for your generosity to her favorite charities.

  1. I’m so sorry for you loss. My thoughts and prayers will all of you. I’m sorry I won’t be able to attend the service on Monday. I’m having back surgery Monday morning.

  2. My dearest Aunt Grace, you have helped me through thick and thin. I have come to rely, throughout my life, on your wisdom and kindness, your compassion and unconditional love. There are no words to describe how much I will miss you. So, I’ll just say thanks for setting such a shining example of how to live a perfect life. And, thanks for so many, many beloved memories. I will always love you.
