George Thomas Blackwell, 56, beloved brother and uncle, passed away on August 26, 2015 after a brief illness in Roanoke, VA. He was born March 24, 1959 in Alexandria, VA where he resided most of his life. George is survived by his sisters, Donna B. Ward of Victoria, TX and Janet B. Tedrick of Warrenton, VA, as well as by his nieces, Laura W. Glass, Jennifer Tedrick, Ashley Tedrick, Jamie Tedrick, and Angela Tedrick, and his nephew, Mark Ward, Jr. George took advanced art classes at NOVA, enjoying the impressionist style in charcoal and oil mediums. He was known for his humor, devotion to family, and avid pursuit of his hobbies as an artist, guitar player, Beatles fan, old movie buff, and strong supporter of all Washington area sports teams. His heartfelt prayers for his family members for safety, health, and spiritual blessings were always appreciated. George will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial will be held at Mount Comfort Cemetery 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria , VA on Monday, August 31st at 11 A.M.
