Donald Louis Litton

Capt. Donald Louis Litton, who was born in Charleston, West Virginia, died peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2016, in McLean Virginia at 92 years of age. He earned his law degree from Washington and Lee University. Capt. Litton served during WWII and won the Noel Davis trophy for the best helicopter squadron in the U.S. Navy. He also served in the International Division of the Civil Aeronautics Board where he successfully negotiated aeronautics treaties with countries all over the world. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his three sons: Mark, Scott and Jeffrey and his four grandchildren. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on a date to be determined.

  1. My dad was one from the "Greatest Generation" and he help set the example which prompted that moniker in the first place: larger than life, heroic, stable, helpful, loving, integrity. He will be missed by many but especially missed by me.
