Christopher DePalma

Christopher DePalma passed unexpectedly at his home in Alexandria on September 2, 2021. He was predeceased by his father Samuel DePalma in 2003. Christopher most enjoyed spending time with his American Bulldog, Fisher, who he referred to as ‘the prettiest girl in Old Town’. He could often be seen walking her on King Street or down by the water.
Chris was born in Florida and grew up in Pennsylvania. He served his country as a US Marine and served 1 tour in Iraq. He was happiest when hiking or fishing in the woods. Like his father, this is where Chris found his peace.
His friends and family describe him as quiet, thoughtful, genuine, kind and just an all-around great guy. He was charismatic with a quick wit and a smile that would light up the room. Chris had a deep sense of loyalty to his friends and family. His love for them was often expressed through words of comfort or encouragement.
Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but also found comfort in just hanging at home with his girl, Fisher.
Chris is survived by his mom Kathy DePalma (Fred Meyer), his sister Danielle Waite (Chris Waite), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his favorite girl, Fisher.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Friday, September 10th at Belle Haven Park on George Washington Parkway, near the marina boat launch.

Christopher was a “chip off the old block”, his father, Sam. He found solitude and peace in the woods and among nature. I will miss Christopher’s coy humor with his crooked smile looking at you to see if you got his joke or not. He left us all way too soon! My heart is very heavy. But, I find comfort with Christopher’s loss by knowing he is now in the most beautiful forest walking with his Dad, Grandfather, and Grandmother. I wish comfort and peace to Kathy and Danielle, the entire family, and his many friends.
